I thought I would give this plant a chance to grow just in case it turned out to be something nice. New to this house and I have no idea what this thing is. Has anyone seen this before?
Also, does anyone know of a website/computer program that helps identify plants based on leaves, etc.?

Looks like a Cimicifuga. Worth keeping if it is. Nice spikes of sweetly scented flowers.
There are a few websites for wild flowers based on characteristics. As you work through them you narrow the field of possibilities down. The only ones I have seen so far work on wild flowers of the UK.
