Any idea's what this is?

Hi not entirely certain if I like this plant at all it just keeps growing upward, it must be around 7ft now. We did plant it last year but my mother in law bought it from a Pound Shop as a gesture when we decided to put in a boarder. This was early last year and I cannot remember for the life of me what it is.

It looks like the foliage of a Philadelphus. Probably one of the bigger more vigorous types Like 'Virginal'.
