Caterpillar Banquet

My very large pyracantha has been stripped by what I believe to be Vapourer Moth caterpillars. Do I leave it to recover, spray it with something or cut it right down? Any advice would be great.

You've probably already done this by now, but yes, you'll need to cut it back a bit, though not too much at this time of year. Also lay in a stock of some pesticide spray which will treat this kind of thing ready for next year and monitor the plant closely for early signs of infestation and treat immediately.
