A very free draining soil with a lot of grit sempervivums can't cope with sitting in wet soil. Just looking at the pix the compost seems to be very wet

Yes its been out in yet more rain. Will definatly add more grit. I didnt think I had added enough when I noticed the black section on it

I'd also suggest you put it under cover outside so that it can't get soaked. If that is composted bark or similar you need to repot in a very lean mix of loam, grit and sand.

make sure the you cover around the top of the plant with grit too, the leaves dont like being on wet surfaces either.

I was wondering if it was an Echeveria rather than a Semp because of its pale colour. But if the baby extended outward like a runner rather than growing underneath I'd say Sempervivum. You'd know when it flowers, either way.

I'm leaning towards Echeveria too. If it is, you will have to overwinter indoors.

dont look the right colour for Echeveria to me, it should be a grey/bluish colour if so.

I still say it is a Semp.... time will tell :-)

Well Mookins, did the suspected either Sempervivum or Echeveria die in the winter? :-)

well its grown and has 2 new babies, i have her indoors with my aloe vera plants

no flowers yet but just as pretty
will take a new pic and upload
