Are there any special techniques or requirements when pruning a Crepe Myrtle

On plant Lagerstroemia indica

Answers

Wait until the flowers have finished in winter and then cut it back at least 30 centimetres and in spring there will be lots of new growth. Of course after pruning they look a little ugly for a while. Many prefer to leave them unpruned, as crepe myrtles do develop their own lovely shape and will flower well regardless.
