Are poppy seeds edible?
Are the seeds from garden poppies the same as the poppy seeds I'd buy to use in baking?
(Sorry, but this is the only photo I have, they have all gone and heads are dry now).

Thanks Bertie, that has put my mind at rest. Googling the question was simply too scary and confusing.
Now to collect the tons of seed heads produced this year :-)

Your picture is of Papaver somniferum, the opium poppy, and these are the seeds that you use to decorate breads and cakes.
