The new shed has arrived

A couple of days ago the new shed arrived. Not a huge shed just a small one 6 × 4, for housing the lawnmower and a few tools and pots.
Im so pleased with it, I seem to have been waiting ages for it to arrive!
This is the site all cleared and ready for its arrival:

and here is the new shed, half painted!

Oh why wont it stop raining. I need to get this job finished. Tool racks to put in and pretty bits to hang up!
A few pots needing new homes now

A nice problem is what to do with this old carrier box – a cold frame maybe, or a raised veggi bed? I dont need it for my pots storage now! any ideas?

Thats a good size and fits in very well near the g'house Poppy, you`ll soon have it sorted, thats quite a large box so no doubt will be in use again shortly..

Lovely shed . . . shame the rain is stopping you from finishing the job. Half that box would make a great cold frame if you can make a lid (2 cold frames? :)))

Thanks Terra, Lincs and Sheilabub. Ive wanted a 'pretty' shed for some time now. I think the box may well have to be converted to a coldframe Sheila or if I can find space -two coldframes Im sure I can find an old glass window or door to hinge onto the top somewhere.

Aww thanks Paul and Meadow. Ive just looked at the photo again - Im such a messy moo! the rain has spread what started off as tiny little drips into great pools of paint. Im tempted to just put a chair, table and kettle in it Meadow -give me a few seedlings to prick out and Id be happy as Larry!

You could convert the crate into a Coop..;) or a tree would be quite happy in there for a long time.

That looks good PL, love the colour.
Can you make that 2 chairs please.
Make sure you get it finished by Saturday or you wont be allowed to come out & play, Lol.

Lets make a hot bed out of the crate, then we can have yummy veg all year.

Thanks everyone, Im going to take my time over what to do with the box, thanks for all the suggestions, it has given me food for thought. As for the shed, no painting done at all today the weather was just relentless! I hope it will be a posh shed DD. I have some nice bits and pieces to put in it, bought at a recent trip to Newbury Garden Show. Ill put a picci on when its finished.

Hi
I saw a lovely idea in a book where something like this was converted for storage (bins etc) with hinged door on front and a living (but lightweight) top for plants - I think it had plants like sedums on the top. Reminded me of a living roof.

Hi Sarah

Ive still not decided what to do with the box. I put the old lid back on the top and have been using it as a makeshift potting bench for the time being. It looks really messy at the moment. Ive seen those living roof tops, I especially like the ones done with sedums. I may get around to doing one - eventually!!
