This is one of my favourites also, I think there are a few leaves still on after the storms....

Thanks - when the sun shines through the leaves, it's magical. :-)) The leaves on this one are still there, Dd, surprisingly!

I saw several of these when I visited Cambridge Botanical gardens. They were in the Dry Garden & were covered in lots of powdery mildew. I think I may have included a photo or two in one of the blogs I wrote about my visit a few years ago.

Yours looks better than theirs! :-))

Thanks, both. I think out of my vines, this has to be the favourite. It doesn't seem to get mildewed, thank goodness.

Have you had it long? Perhaps this year's weather favoured it more.

The ones I saw in the CBG were growing very big but they looked bad covered in mildew!

beautiful, not much bright seasonal colour this year in my garden, the wind blew off most of the lovely turning leaves before they got to their full glory :-(

Yes, here as well, Angie. The lawns are covered in leaves. My Vitis still has leaves on it as it's more sheltered. :-) (Luckily!)

I inherited most of the vines in the garden, Balcony. The only one I planted myself is a replacement Parthenocissus henryii when we had the garden room built. The existing mature one had to go and I was sad about that.

What else?

See who else is growing Vitis vinifera 'Purpurea'.

See who else has plants in genus Vitis.

This photo is of "Vitis vinifera 'Purpurea'" in Spritzhenry's garden
