Meanie:

Wow! You really know how to take these close up!

23 Jun, 2011

Sticki - not ice cream! Going on a bit of a plant haul on the way home today. Found a cracking nursery on the way down which I'll blog about.

Thank you Delonix!

Sticki - this is their website......

http://www.hillhousenursery.co.uk/tender_exotic_plants/g-l.html

You may get a tip about a couple of my purchases from that page!

There are certainly some very spectacular plants there. So which are you having? Hedychium? I like that Lochroma very much.

23 Jun, 2011

I already have a Hedychium which is just sat there doing nothing!
I got a Beschorneria which had already flowered for £4.00, a Cantua (similarly already bloomed) for £4.50 and a Eucomis comosa for £4.00!
The plant that I went in for is secret for a week or so, but I could only find two stockists in the south of England, and it cost me just £4.25!
I also got a very special Salvia for £4.50 which I'll post up shortly.
When we called in on the way down on Monday there were a lot of Brugmansia standing three to four feet for six quid, all sold by Thursday!
Well worth a visit, but take a van!!

24 Jun, 2011

They sound excellent prices, im not surprised you need a van.
Got to wait for two weeks? Is that till the flower opens?

24 Jun, 2011

It is Sticki!!
I personally think that it's worth it......

24 Jun, 2011

ok, i will try to be patient.

24 Jun, 2011

Gotcha!!

24 Jun, 2011

im not good at being patient.

24 Jun, 2011

Don't tempt me - I'm as impatient as you are!!!

24 Jun, 2011

What else?

See who else is growing Thunbergia alata (Black-eyed Susan).

See who else has plants in genus Thunbergia.

This photo is of "Thunbergia" in Meanie's garden
