Thank you, they are fantastic when they flower, it takes weeks and weeks to develop the flower, it seemed like forever when I was waiting for it to open the first time it flowered.

I love the colour and the form...How big are they in reality, Plantoholic?

Thanks P...read it now and thanks! Is the baobab tree the one that has an enormous trunk and quite small branches...by any chance?

28 Jul, 2011

Yes thats the one, have see a photo of the jail one in botswana its amazing. Thomas pakenham wrote a book on them, there is some fantastic trees in it one even used as a pub :-)))

28 Jul, 2011

haha!...a pub!! lol!...don't think it's one I'd frequent - home to too much other fauna...
Haven't been to Madagascar (have flown over, looks amazing!) but have spent a few weeks in La Reunion, nearby...some wonderful plants and trees there :)))

29 Jul, 2011

Jealous :-))

29 Jul, 2011

La Reunion not so difficult...it's in Europe! Domestic flights out of France, reasonable price...E111 (or whatever it's called these days) works... :))
...quite a few shark attacks in the last few weeks tho'... :/

29 Jul, 2011
