ive grown some of those this year too meanie. Yours look very free from slug damage, unlike mine. I dont like to use slug control too much cos of doggies! They also grow in shady places which is useful. I will definately grow these again.

Beautiful!

Does Nicotiana glauca grow wild there like it does here?

6 Sep, 2011

It doesn't, but I have the seeds ordered already!

Meanie:

I could have sent you seeds. Nicotiana gluaca grows out of the rockiest soils here. It even pops up in asphalt along the freeways. It's actually a big weed here.

I'm just looking for a nice specimen plant!

7 Sep, 2011

Meanie:

I've never seen one here growing as a potted specimen plant. It typically grows as a small tree to 25ft/7.6m (sometimes taller).

Apparently so!

Believe-it-or-not this tree is actually considered a noxious weed in all of California. It still think it's a very nice tree.

I do believe it - you lot think of Datura as a weed!!!!!!!!!!!

7 Sep, 2011

LOL! I can't believe the Datura plants are still blooming along the freeways. I thought they would've stopped blooming by now.

8 Sep, 2011

My D.metel is still blooming well despite the cool weather.

8 Sep, 2011

Meanie:

They're blooming here despite it being sweltering hot and the soil being hard as concrete.
