Nerium oleander - Salmon Oleander (Nerium oleander - Salmon Oleander)

Oleander is grown many miles along freeways in California. This one was growing at University of San Diego on 4th of July, 2011.

Oleander is grown all along our highways and parks all over Greece. Corfu if covered with them. I think this is the most used plant!!! My favorite is the creamy yellow and the only one I don't have.

Yes, the standard Oleander can grow huge, to 30ft/10m. However, I notice in many parking lots and median around town they use the dwarf hybrids. Some of the smaller dwarf hybrids only grow to 3ft/1m tall.

I think the one above is a medium dwarf.

Oleander always have hundreds or thousand of flowers (depending on the size of the plant) for most of the year, here in San Diego.

The white and light pink Oleander can look downright elegant. The other colors not so much.
