Ligularia stenocephala

Ligularia stenocephala (Ligularia stenocephala)

Just starting to open its buds. THis plant is in its third year in a sunken pot. As you can see the leaves are smaller than normal and the flowering stems much shorter. It is going to be divided in the coming spring to get to spread its wings again. :-) Great plant!

Very nice GreenT.
Hi Simbad :-) My ligularia's arent doing too well, look a bit sad. Wonder if I have them in too much sun? Your seed grew well though :-) Maybe its too wet where I've set them on the pond edge.

Thank you. They are wonders. Hope you figure out yours Dawnsaunt. They have seemed pretty trouble free for me. Surviving winters and getting in a season of bloom are two major pluses here.

Strange Dawn they usually like a boggy spot, would have thought your pond edge would have been perfect, most of mine are in a fairly shady but not particularly boggy spot though thinking about it, do tend to whilt badly in the sun, but now its cooled a bit they're flowering like mad, never realised they were scented till the other day when I was weeding near them, lovely scent.

Hi Kathy, maybe they're getting too much sun. They have been wilting alot all Summer but since its been dull and wet, they seem happier. I'll set some nearer the trees but still where its damp, and we'll see what happens, thank you.
