Lovely. That's a good one. I'm glad you have lots of space as I've seen some really big ones. This is going to look even better in years to come.

Morgana: Shame you lost yours - I make sure the crown on mine is protected each Winter.
Daisy: I remember you getting one, I'm glad its doing well. You can split them when they get more established too.
Deida: Those flowers were great but they were on the small variety I have.
I've had this one for about 9 years - this year it didnt get quite as big as the year before the I guess the leaves are about 1 metre across.
Amy: You are too kind - its not really perfect enough :-)

What a super picture of one of my favourite plants, you have the perfect setting to show off it's magnificent leaves, have put another one in our garden, last one got big, too big, so out it came, regretted it.......so had to buy another!!!, will move house when the leaves reach the bedroom windows lol

One of my favourties too DD. I'm always fascinated how they can grow this big from nothing in the Spring. Shame you had to lose your first one :-( I have the smaller variety too (Gunnera Tinctoria) - still big but probably half the size of Maniata - there's a pic under my photos - page 4, last one :-)

Will go and find it.......

We set it around 9 years ago when it was about 10 inches high. After a couple of years it was pretty huge but I guess its in ideal conditions .... semi shade, bank of brook, damp. Youngdaisy (above) has hers in a large tub.
