I have to confess to removing some of one of the thugs to make a space for something different. Why is it that the most beautiful ones don't spread, while the ordinary ones do? If my lovely G. pratense 'Violacea flore plena' spread I'd be jumping for joy!

Do you know that one, Dee?

Yes I had it as G.P. Plenum Violaceum, there are so many new cultivars, it is a good thing I dont have enough room to put them all in......we would have to stop eating lol

No you're not -- I asked on the other phaeum how to propagate them, so if I succeed, of course you can!

thanks do you already have the dark one that i have? if not we could always do a swap. - also do you remeber the viened geranium i have and i asked last year about growing this one from seed, well i was told on here that they do not grow true from seed - if you get seed at all - well i did get some seed and it has grown! the leaves look just the same! so i am nursing it to see what i get - i have quite a few of them i wonder if i have anything unusual or maybe i will have a new cross breed maybe i could call it Geranium x Angiebarb - what do you think? - i have so many different types of hardy geraniums in my garden!.could be really interesting.... i know pipish dreams waffling etc lol - hope i am making you smile though :o)

See who else is growing Geranium phaeum (Mourning widow).

See who else has plants in genus Geranium.

This photo is of "Geranium phaeum pale mauve" in Spritzhenry's garden
