thanks i really love this too, i am not sure on the variety though...Spritz can you help? i have it down as G. sanguineum 'Bloody Cranesbill' - but i lost the picture...does this sound right to you?

If the photo colour is right, then it isn't. They come in white, pink and magenta...not mauve , blue or purple.

How tall is it?

21 May, 2009

Approx 18" 2ft, same sort of leaves as 'splish splash' quite spikey and long stems on them - not going to be compact, seems quite leggy, flowers are quite big more approx 1.5" accross. the photo colour is pretty much true, the red/pinky viens are really very bright and it is the same puple as in the pic...i really like this one,,, would love to know what it's called if you are able to help Spritz x

I have had a look through my Geranium book - but nothing stands out... I'll keep trying!

You know what Spritz, i think i may have come up with something, i have just been looking at anther geranium i have i flower in the back garden G. clarkei 'Kashmir Purple' and it is nearly identical, slight difference in colour but not much. as i remeber i got the Kashmir Purple off ebay and had problems with it i think it had been eaten by slugs, so the guy may well have replaced it..i do have a pic on here of Kashmir but it is not true to the colour, i will go and take another one now see what you think.

The 'Kashmir Purples' that I have seen have slightly more pointed petals. Angie - so I'm doubtful.

well it was off ebay, and not one of the most reliable sellers either.. so it could be something completely different? would love to know what though, it is really pretty.

I agree...I'd like to know, too.

So much for bedtime - I am back downstairs as I couldn't sleep... it's 1.15 am. I shall take a look at your geraniums.

lol - oh dear Hope you ok x

25 May, 2009

My own fault, Angie - as we went to look at an open garden, I forgot to take my pill at 6 pm and that caused it. How silly is that? Another senior moment...

25 May, 2009

ooh poor you, i always moan about not sleeping too well then remeber that i have drunk 10 cups of coffee during the day! lol
