Ficus lyrata - Fiddle-leaf Fig

Ficus lyrata - Fiddle-leaf Fig (Ficus lyrata - Fiddle-leaf Fig)

This is a nice-shaped Fiddle-leaf fig. I see many large ones on my way to work. They're a beautiful, clean tree. Photo taken June 26, 2016.

That's wild. I had always thought they were very slow growing and that even in soucal..more a shrub.
Wrong!

OMG! This tree becomes a monsters here! I remember years ago stuck in horrible, horrible traffic on the freeway in Montebello area of Los Angeles and seeing many 50 and 60 foot Fiddle-leaf fig trees (they look like big lollipops). I see several big trees going to work in neighborhoods close to the freeway. They can grow very quickly! Especially, established trees when trimmed back.
