Erythrina "Crista galli" (Erythrina crista-galli (Cocks Comb))

I cut this back to a six inch stump after moving it from the garage to the conservatory. The plant itself now stands about four foot tall. It was repotted two weeks ago.

I'm chuffed with it this year! Heat, humidity, water and light is doing wonders!
Cut it back and ignore it indoors or the garage 6d - the new growth will come from the trunk.

Meanie:

It's looking very good and healthy! It should be blooming soon.

Delonix - it's grown another two foot since this shot!
It had a small attack of spider mite despite my humidity regime, but that was easily repelled with soapy water sprayed on for a week. The leaves that emerged at that time are curled up to one degree or another, but all is healthy either side of them. I've set free the parasitic mites on it now too just to be doubly sure.
Tell me, where will the racemes emerge from?

Meanie:

All flowers buds emerge from the tips of the branches from all Erythrina species. This is the reason why Erythrina species are only cut back after they bloom.

Thanks! I'll know where to look now.

Meanie:

I took pics of the large E. crista-galli tree around the corner from my house yesterday. It bloomed all winter long and now is blooming again and has buds at all the tips. I'll post a pic sometime today.
