Clematis and Collared Dove

Janey

By Janey

Clematis and Collared Dove (Clematis chiisanensis)

One of a pair of Collared Doves that visit the garden every day, enjoying the seeds of a chiisanensis clematis. I'd no idea they would eat these, she does look cold and hungry, so I'm pleased there's plenty to go at....:o))

Thanks everyone,....at first I didn't think she looked too well, but then could see she was feeding from the fluffy seed heads! Today has been warmer, so they have been strolling smooth and sleek around the garden....:)))

Great shot Janey...such lovely soft colours. I love collared doves....almost as much as the sparrowhawk seems to love them, but for different reasons!

Lovely pic Janey. The collared doves in my garden eat the berries of the evergreen honeysuckles. Good that they visit the gardens to find food :o)

Thanks girls!....:))). Today she has been nowhere near the clematis, mind you there were chocolate buns crumbled up on the frosty lawn...lol!

If I were a dove I think I would have gone for the chocolate buns. LOL. Lovely photo, she looks almost frosted like the clematis poor thing. It never ceases to amaze me how the birds get through our cold winters o.k. We had a couple of long tailed tits on the fat balls yesterday.

Lol Linda! When you think of their tiny feet, and NO slippers..ha, the long tailed tit is one of my favourite small birds, like you we had a flock in the garden this morning, piping away in the birch tree, hard to get a pic of them though isn't it....:((
Thanks Woodland!.......:))

The couple of long tailed tits have turned into six now. I think the words got round about Linda's diner.
