Chrysanthemum weyrichii

Chrysanthemum weyrichii (Chrysanthemum weyrichii)

Until I bought this I had no idea there were spring flowering chrysanthemum's or indeed alpine Chrysanthemums! Pretty but very pale flowers.

Ah, yes, of course, it is your kind of flower helenium!!

It is Karen, I just adore them!

I am not generally a chrysanthemum fan H. Not because of the plants, but because they signal the end of summer. However, I did buy three recently in the Dobbies 4 for £10 range of perennials...two terracotta coloured and one burgundy for my hot bed. I am looking forward to seeing them in flower, perhaps I'll get into them more now! I've always loved the smell of them.

They never had it last time I was there..but I'll be going soon, it might be in this time! Two Chrysanths you might like for your hot border are, 'Dutchess of Edinburgh' & 'Ruby Mound' both fab! Woottens of Wenhaston have those, no harm in having wee peek, now is there? te he he!

Oh yes, they are both very nice. I think I prefer ruby a little more, but both nice! The ones I got are similar to these....Gala Burgundy and Action Bronze.

Good choices too!

I thought so and at 4 for a tenner, not too bad! They are in 1L pots, so not too tiny.

They are really good prices Karen,(will be even better next week with the discounts!!) especially that size of plant, when you weigh them up against some. I try to support the local nurseries but sometimes they're really too expensive!

I spend plenty (funny just typed 'planty') there too!!

A wee Freudian slip there Karen! lol!

:)) exactly!

I have this in the garden Karen, well I thought I did! Mine has turned out to be a large, bushy plant with deep red flowers so definitely a mislabelled purchase. I started to wonder when it grew to 3ft tall and formed buds in July. Never mind I will try again next year as yours is very pretty :o))

It's been a bit pathetic this year Annie....hardly any flowers on it and very tatty, but that's because of the weather. Hopefully it will be a bit better next year.
