Carex pendula - settling-in

By Mrv

Carex pendula - settling-in (Carex pendula (Great Pendulous Sedge))

We were given a very battered 10 inch clump at the end of April '10 by our friend, Mal. We popped it in to see if it would establish - which it seems to be doing by June '10 - it's certainly having a go at flowering. Some of the flower spikes have 2 male flowers at the end, I thought the norm was 1. Who Norm is I don't know ... answers on a postcard to:

I shall continue the research department

Looking at the plant, I think it looks prime for division March/April '11 (that's if we like it of course)

What else?

See who else is growing Carex pendula (Great Pendulous Sedge).

See who else has plants in genus Carex.

This photo is of "Pendulous Sedge" in Mrv's garden
