I have always fancied a Mexican blue but i don't think it would make it threw a damp English winter

Palmate:

I have a feeling it would be very difficult to keep it from getting many fungal diseases, there. The Mexican Blue palm is hardy, however, it's native to the deserts of Baja California (where it's almost always dry). It really despises wet, cold conditions (it doesn't even like warm wet conditions).
