Alsobia Dianthiflora (Alsobia dianthiflora (Lacy Flower))

A little treat I bought myself!
First saw one of these in the Lily house at Oxfords botanic gardens.

What a corker Meanie...as its you I have to believe its real, but can hardly believe it...wouldnt it be wonderful if it flowered at Christmas! Tinsel would be old hat...

Sadly, it's unlikely to bloom over the winter......
It is a stunner though!

It's not listed, but it's where I got mine from. There were deffo some left yesterday when we called in, but a lot less than when I got mine.

Meanie:

Your plant is very beautiful! I like the plant very much!
You must feel very lucky to own one. :>)

My friend's nursery in north San Diego County sells this plant. It's not very hardy at all (very tropical)...actually, it can only be grown outside in the mildest areas of San Diego.

Delonix - I'm well pleased to have got my hands on one!
"Very Expensive Garden Centre" may be just that, but it does offer a good selection of indoor plants. Strangely, it's outdoor plant offerings are very run of the mill.

I don't think that I'll be trying that Homebird!
It's part of the same family as Streptocarpus.
