Adenium obesum - Desert Rose Flower

Adenium obesum - Desert Rose Flower (Adenium obesum - Desert Rose)

My Desert has one branch with buds and one flower. It typically doesn't flower until late spring or summer. It was liking the very hot weather we've had the last three days (92ºF or 33ºC or hotter). Photo taken April 11, 2018.

It's such a beauty, and so dependable each spring you post how it's progressing and we marvel. Say, Andy, could you send some of that lovely heat our way...? Please?

Lori,

Thanks! :>)) Yes, it's been a very dependable bloomer since I had it. In 14 years it has flowered every year with fail. Every year is more spectacular!

Today is cooler; however, tomorrow it will heat back up again through Sunday.

Stan,

Actually, a few years ago Home Depot had ones that were almost 3' tall for around $29.00. I though that was a steal for one so large.

Lovely to see a flower on your Desert Rose! Looking forward to seeing it flower more profusely later in the year.

It's starting new buds on the branches now. It should be flowering by May.

WOW! That's incredible! I remember this house. lol!
I think my parents first house in 1967 in the Irvington district was around $12,000. lol! Isn't that amazing! It was a very nice house, too.

I heard there was quite a bit of hail and cold in the SF Bay Area today.

I remember the lady who owned that house. It's most likely her son who owns it now. She was elderly when I lived there over 20 years ago.

I really did love living Mission San Jose Fremont. It is truly one of the gems of the SF Bay Area.
