I don't know this plant, are those flower spikes soft and feathery or hard and spikey ?
They're a pretty colour.

More like soft and spikey.
I just hope my little specimen ( originally from Australia)lasts this Winter.I think I'll have to wrap it or something.

Nice shot. I like your black border :)

Thanks .I mostly put borders on the pictures.
The plant is continuing to do well.I don't know if one is supposed to deadhead this plant or not?

I don't know it at all. I would suggest that it is never any harm to deadhead unless you want seed. Being from Australia, I would be surprised if it overwintered in Canada, but with protection, maybe. (one thing for sure, it is not a Berberis, as it has been catagorised!!)

Sorry for linking it with the Bereris,as I can't seem to post it in my garden plants section without linking it to some other plant. That's why I don't have too many plants posted here in this category.

Yep I want seed...so i guess I'll just let this plant do it's thing.

What else?

See who else is growing Berberis thunbergii (Barberry).

See who else has plants in genus Berberis.

This photo is of "Japanese Barberry Shrub" in Rhodea's garden
