Reminds me of a garden I saw last year at the "Gardening Scotland" show.

Thank you! It's quite small, 6 or 7 inches high, but I love it. Saw a bigger version last week, but if I get any more, they would have to be different, I'm looking for specific ones (in my head at least!). Glad you like it!

"Buddhas and Bagpipes" was the title of the garden I saw. The plants were all from Nepal and the Himalayas, and were "sourced" by Scottish planthunters of the past, many of whom came from your County. We have many links with that part of the world. :-)

Hmmm!
That explains why His Holiness, the Dalai Lama said he felt at home at Samye Ling the first time he went there. I went for his talk, it was the 16th May & it snowed! An amazing day!
I wish I'd seen that garden! Did you get pics?

There are 2 pics of the "Buddhas and Bagpipes" garden on page 16 of my photo gallery. One has some info on the garden beneath. Also on that page are pics of the fab Himalayan blue poppy. :-)

Haven't seen that one written before. Love it!
I take it it's in tibetan!
Most of the sutras I know are in Sanskrit!

9 Aug, 2009

Yup tibetan it /they are.
got more if you want them and translations too if needed, dontcha just love the chants droneing quietly in the background of your conciousness mimicing the sound of the universe that surrounds us all(like the sound of the sea in a seashell!!!!

9 Aug, 2009

I love it! Yes, I'd love copies of the chants AND translations please!
When it all gets too much for me I have (on tape, unfortunately) a recording of a Tibetan Puja & it just stills my mind & calms me. It seems to drown everything else out, so it's great as a meditation aide. I also have one of the gongs, which is fabulous!
Thank you!
