Is this one a huge weed or is it a plant....tree?

I found out from a guy that was trimming a tree at our neighbours house that this is a Manitoba Maple. He also said that it is not a very good tree....a real pain!!

Well it has a stem and leaves so it's definately a plant - If it's in the wrong place I suppose it could be called a weed.
