This tree is very spectacular in bloom. They have huge bunches
of daisy flowers. The tree is a Central American native which is pretty popular here...although not very commonly available in all nurseries. This 25 foot tree is located at Quail Botanical Gardens. July 7, 2009.

It is native to Guatemala, Honduras. They were introduced into California many decades ago.
This tree in full bloom is very stunning. Unfortunately, the tree was in the end of its bloom cycle...I think its heaviest bloom is in Winter and early Spring.
I believe its native climate is similar to yours...where it blooms in the dry-season in Winter.

The large velvety-leaveas are very attractive also.
