Ornamental Kale

Ornamental Kale

I got some of this just to try out. These in the wagon are doing the best of all the positions I've tried.

Thanks Irish. :-) I wish the complimentary verbena around it were coming on a little quicker.

These are so pretty. I always like them when I see them, but have never grown them. I think that they get pretty leggy towards the end of their growing season. I've always wondered what do you do w it then??? My verbena leaves are getting very yellow, GT. Any tips on how to remedy the problem?

I'm thinking a moose may come through and take care of these towards the season end. :-) They will live right through even the first few snows if not. My season is short enough, I'll probably not have them get to advanced in age.

I've had yellow from cold or dryness. I'm guessing not cold for you. :-) I trim off the yellow and keep a good watch on keeping them moist and free draining. Don't fertilize them since they may be reacting to fertilizer as well. If you see new green healthy growth its working. If not, it may be something I'm unfamiliar with. Hope that helps Traci
