Just noticed a few around these last few days. These are Charlotte's hands, lol. I held the camera - her hands are tiny - the frog was about the size of my thumb nail, well probably a bit bigger. Lol

Great to see them coming on !

I should start to see toads too I should think, we usually have more toads than frogs - love them all.

Our toads are emerging Dawn..at dusk...in the shadows..and into the pond

Cute little frog, his family are probably close-by.

Ha ha Louise: I wish I had my daughter's hands but as you can tell, she is not a gardener yet, lol.
Milky: Well, what can I say .... wouldnt fill me much would it!

To right Bonkers......keep away.......

I will...!!

~years go we had frogspawn in a large bucket and these tiny little black frogs~less than half an inch were emerging and vanishing into the undergrowth~they are amazingly small and very cute!
Thought you have such beautiful young looking hands Dawn~was going to ask what your secret is !

27 Jun, 2009

I wish Arlene!!!! Dont think I even had hands like then was I was 20. These little frogs are all around the pond now - so teeny - there wont be any mowing done around the edge of the pond for a while now.

27 Jun, 2009

~I occasionally move a pot in the garden and find a frog there~our pools are very deep but next door has a large shallow one which will be much better for them.

27 Jun, 2009

Great stuff Arlene. I hope I dont see many slugs now.

27 Jun, 2009

Much better than using slug pellets. Friends for life.

2 Jul, 2009

I agree Linda - I dont use slug pellets these days to protect the birds and the hedgehogs :-)
I think this one needs to grow a bit though before he's effective.

2 Jul, 2009

He'll be eating something small to survive....like little snails that have just hatched out or small flies or bugs

2 Jul, 2009

A valuable little fella then - lots of them around at the moment :-)

2 Jul, 2009

Have you got some stones around to make them some cool shelters to get under?

3 Jul, 2009

Yes Linda, lots of wildlife friendly things going on here - take a look at my pics of my pond where they evolved :-)
