nice-looking plant. I'd never heard of it, so I did a quick Google; it's considered invasive, do you have it contained or do you have enough space not to worry about it?

There are several wild flowers like this one, Green Alkanet is another that look absolutely right in the woodland and I find them very attractive and they make excellent ground cover. Fortunately very easy to control as it is very shallow rooted and spreads by sending out tendrils which then root in any bare soil. The tendrils are very easy to remove and I think the benefit is well worth the effort. There are quite a few wild plants that look perfectly at home in the woodland and I am constantly on the lookout for seedlings that might develop into a welcome visitor. GoY members have been of invaluable help in identifying these for me and I must have asked over 100 questions so far and as an absolute beginner, I am enormously grateful.

grins, I know that feeling! I was surprised to find how nice people are in here, and how friendly (another site that I posted a question on took three months to answer, and he was sarcastic)

I'm all for woodland gardens - mine's going to have to be tabletop-scaled-down, but any small, slow-growing woodland-y plant goes on my list to check out.

What I thought of doing was keeping plants in pots until I've found the best arrangement for them - and maybe even after, to stop some of them going walkabout.

How big is your woodland space?
