I found a couple of quince fruits as I gardened and, remembering that someone had mentioned growing plants from these seeds, I took them indoors. One was squidgy (brown seeds) and the other was hard (black seeds). Which should I use? They were both from the same plant, a red/pinkish blossomed plant.

Why don't you sow both and lable them as squidgy and hard? Both may germinate but if only one does, you will know for the future.
