Bernieh:

Very beautiful Mussaenda! I love the white bracts and yellow flowers!

These plants are so difficult for me to grow because of our hard water...do you have soft water or a lot of rain water for this plants?

Up until last year Delonix we had council-supplied bore water - which is what is classed as 'hard water' - and we hadn't had much rain for years until this year. So I guess these shrubs have done well given those conditions. The two shrubs I have are now both over 3 metres tall even though they are called 'dwarf' mussaendas!

Bernieh:

Did the leaf tips turn brown when watering with your 'hard water?'

The leaf tips and entire leaves can turn brown from our hard water...until the plant eventually dies.

No Delonix - never had that problem - these plants seem pretty hardy. Maybe they were hardened a lot more in the nurseries here than over there.

Bernieh:

Our water is probably much "harder" and has more unknowns in it. It's actually pretty scary to thinks what's in our water. I never drink the tap-water...only bottled or distilled water.
