Licuala ...?

Looks a lot like the photo you posted - mine is not very tall as you can see. It would be about 10 years old but has been growing in a very exposed and dry garden bed.

Yes thanks Marguerite I thought so too - the photos I've seen on google images do show split leaves on this palm (which Delonix has indicated is rare) - it's not always a straight forward process identifying these palms.

I would put money on it...that this is Licuala ramsayi. Licuala grandis has very different fronds especially when young. Check out photos on the internet.
