Unwanted garden helper - it's an escapee and enjoying it's freedom!

I know I've been excited about getting into the garden but I didn't ask for this fellow's help. This guinea pig has obviously escaped from someone's garden and decided to stay in my greenhouse where he's been enjoying the iris plants, the hypoestes and a few other choice nibblies! I know I wanted to clean out the greenhouse but this little scamp's type of help is unwanted.

Hmm..how abt setting a booby trap..a safe , non-cruel one though..put food inside a plate on the ground. Place a basket that is half opened and resting on a small hinge-like thingie tied to a string. When the fellow starts eating your yummy stuff, just pull the string. If you're lucky and his backside touches the thingie while he's eating, the basket will cover him. Sounds rudimentary..but my granny used to do that..dunno whether it work on greedy, athletic guinea pig though.

Oh Justjan this is not only an athletic gorging guinea pig - he's quite clever too! Yes we tried a similar method of capture but I was there for over an hour waiting - got tired and needed a cuppa. Tried again later that same day and same thing - I am just not that patient.

Why don't you keep him as a pet. He seems quite at home there :o)
