Yes you're right - he's almost the same size as Mum and must be a heavy weight to lug around - she looks enormous when he's back in the pouch. The wallaby we get around here is called the Agile Wallaby and I think the pouch life of the joey is around 7 or 8 months, but they will continue using the pouch after that - at least until they are weaned at around 12 mths. However I have heard that some joeys will keep jumping back into the pouch even after a year unless Mum has another joey.

Oh dear...guess maybe one of those pouches could be a problem at times too...lol.

I hear a lot of parents with kids in their late twenties complaining they have no intention of leaving home.........joey syndrome.
