My garden is very similar in layout to yours and is accessed by steps similar to yours too. As you come down the steps, the big pond is on the left and on the right, which doesn't get much sun, it's mostly shady and a bit on the damp side, I have a few evergreens with some Day Lilies and a couple of self seeded foxgloves. On the terrace above, there's the new, small pond and a wooden container with a few odd plants in it, waiting for the better weather to improve my planting. I'd like a small pergola over the steps for climbers like honeysucke for the scent. Watch this space. Take a look at some of my pix, the one with the snow covered garden probably shows my steps.
