I can't bear to think about being without central heating. We also have a fire which is rubbish for emergencies.
Glad you're sorted out!

Thank you but you neednt have put this on to feel your warmth x

We have a really ancient log fire with on old bread oven next to it .Light the fire and the room fills with smoke! The giant spiders that hide in the beams run for cover though.

Thanks Guys, You know, its my own fault.. I had to have it, I was warned it wouldnt give out a lot of heat, but to be fair i dont use it, the heatings usually warm enough, when its not breaking down, it needed a new pump 5months a go and its only 4/5 years old, Tut...
Thanks BB your a Star. I laughed at your remark about lighting your log fire, i thought you were going to say the room fills with heat :)))

Boilers always break down when the weather is freezing....sods law.
We are thinking about installing a log burner, miss the open fire, but not too sure about cost of running one, any ideas.....please

~our heating is not working either DD not because the boiler is kaput but because the burner seems to be putting out fumes so we have had to turn everything off. Will have to get someone out tomorrow to have a look and in the meantime it is probably warmer outside!

Freezing! you want feel freezing? come on up! My furnace fan motor mount broke in Oct. Good thing I know a thing or two how to fix broken equip. I fired up the gas fireplace while I made repairs. If it was -34c as it was in Dec I would have had to fire up the wood burning fireplace and if that did not do the trick I have 2 elec space heaters and a oven.
