Acer ‘Red Flamingo’

I took this out of the border because the red stems stood out like a sore thumb. It’s hard to integrate a red stemmed plant into a mixed border. It looks much better in a terra pot in front of the red brick. It makes for a lovely clash. There are also teal highlights in the pink variegated foliage which weren’t visible in the border. But teal and terracotta are very complimentary colours, so it works beautifully. It also seems to prefer a bit more shade than I was giving it in the border.
