Thanks Shelia and Rose. I've always been able to draw horses right from when I was little. When I lived on the I.O.Wight I used to ride along the beach and over the downs and do some dressage and jumping and learned how to drive a horse and small cart.

Thanks Janey, the eyes are the soul of the animal. I follow the curve around with a very fine brush as there are light and dark places in the coloured iris, and the light reflects from them too. With the watercolours, I paint the light colours first and gradually build up the stronger colours on the top.
