Agave americana  (Agave americana (Century plant))

This agave flower spike is leaning at my neighbor’s house. It popped up in March. This agave grows wild on the sides of the mesas here. Photo Dec. 1, 2023.

I always admired agave flowers. They are massive. I assume that its going to die after the flower is over.
I grow one in the pot. Still tiny.

That’s the common size for the flower spikes, 30 to 35 ft tall (10 to 12m).
