Such a treat to see them emerging Balc!

I quite agree, Janey! I look forward to them every year. This year they have grow only outside on the balcony as I didn't bring them inside for the winter. Admittedly they were kept very dry & in the most sheltered corner of the balcony but with temps of 8C below freezing that's a lot of cold to survive!

About 5 years ago my son & his wife gave me a pot for my birthday & I managed to keep them alive & flowering more & more each year. Last year I divided them between two pots & that's part of the reason I couldn't keep them in the flat & lack of space played its part too!

Growing the whole time on the balcony I noticed they are not nearly as dark as they were during the years they grew in our kitchen.
