I'm not going to get much work done today :) I'm a lucky lady, I still get a good discount from the last bookshop I worked in ... so have treated myself. Hoping for inspiration!

Thanks Chris - I’m sure I will!

Do let us know how useful this book is,Sheila....cold weather deters gardening anyway, so you have much time in which to read it.

It is a very pretty cover, Shirley. I'm so swayed by pretty book covers, pretty packaging and the like!!!

Oh goodness, the covers on these books! Enjoy, Sheila. I shall be interested in your comments once you've curled up with it! Happy reading..

Yes I’ll have plenty of time to read it Julia, as it’s January! No it won’t be used as a “how to” book, more “look what these gardeners have done” to inspire us.

Thanks Kate - me too - and it’s very attractive inside too 🙂.

Thanks Ange, I think it’s a “coffee table” book, but I’ll let you know if I’m inspired …

Lovely Sheila! There's clearly an advantage in working in a bookshop over being a librarian (though there was the occasional freeby from the reps...) You'll enjoy it!

Thank you Sue, yes I will! We only got a discount “for life” if we were still working there when we retired (if you see what I mean!). Very generous really 🙂.

Gorgeous book-cover Sheila. It will give you inspiration for the spring.

Thanks Klahanie 🙂.

That looks a lovely book Sheila ! I have quite a selection of gardening books when we belonged to the Readers Digest book club years ago and have never heard of this one.
I will have to look out for it!
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Rose, this book has only just been published … I got a bit carried away buying a hardback - I usually wait for the paperback version 🙂.

I "googled" the author's name. She has 5 books out. (I believe) Everyone of them has a beautiful cover.

That’s interesting … often the cover is what helps to sell the books, isn’t it Klahanie?

I thought the same as everyone else looks lovely I like that style I will also look this one up 😊

Thank you Daylily.

It does look so inviting Sheila, a book of fabulous gardens? Jim usually sends me garden books as gifts, I love them, usually Aussie or New Zealand gardens..:))

Looks like a very interesting book, Sheila! 😃 Don't the covers do a fantastic job of selling a book? They are a very valuable way of getting a person interested enough to pick it up & browse through it before, hopefully, for the author, the publisher & the artist who makes the cover, they buy it!

Thanks Janey, yes, exactly that … fabulous gardens from around the world. I need a strong coffee table! 😃.

Thanks Balc - yes, I think the cover is a vital component, this one’s irresistible 🙂.
