Thanks Kate. I appreciate your comments. Have you been out to the countryside this week? I still remember driving out to Rochester & Leeds with my friend in the UK. The sights were breathtaking seeing old & modern parts. The Britons are a fascinating folks - they were so patient with me so warm and friendly as I tried to understand your ways.

Thanks Paul, yes, I’ve been traversing our Lincolnshire countryside this week..Thursday being the last day until Monday.
I just love looking at the basic of things, like stone walling, rickety gates..and the like.
I’ll bet you e lovely memories of being here, seeing the ways of the old and new as you say.
I think it’s a lovely thing to say about the folks over here, it’s very kind.
I’ve great memories of some of the places I’ve been to in your part of the world. New York, Philadelphia,Washington..many other places. I did love Annapolis..wow! Oh to live there and own a big old yacht!
I am keen on the colonial history there and the American war of independence.

Those big old houses are so stately. I really love the Georgian style architecture which is common in Alexandria, VA. I've also seen it in Rochester, UK. I'm very interested in history and visiting historic places and getting a feel for what life was like back then. I get inspired by their trials and triumphs. There are some villages on Long Island, Old Roslyn for example, that are set back in Colonial American times. I think you would love Boston. Many of the pilgrim meeting houses are still standing and the Constitution is still docked at Boston Harbor. I do love American History too. I went to visit Mt. Vernon, VA where George Washington lived as President. That man was an absolute genius in more ways than I can name here. He never really wanted to be President but he acquiesced to the will of the populace. I bought Martha's cookbook and can now try some of her recipes, lol. George ate well. Nice chatting with you Kate. I'm glad you like my birdbath. As you can see, it is very well used. I need to change the water sometimes twice a day. I hope they like the flowers too. :)
