Yes Anget you're right, the birds are thinking about nesting. It's a bit early for them yet, especially with the snow forecast too. I love to see the colours in the feathers, so intense at this time of year.
Thanks Paul, there is always something to see down at the river. Lots of seagulls there today, and the Peregrine was eyeing them up. Sometimes we see a cormorant, or heron, swans, geese, golden eye ducks, and coots.

Inotice there's a lot of 'pairing up' going on at the moment. I saw a magpie flying over with twigs in its beak. At least the avian world is ever-optimistic. The male mallards are gorgeous.
