What's the long-term forecast Lori?

Oh gosh Lori, and only October..it's a good job you're used to it!

Family to the west of me barely had any snow, Bathgate. It came out of the north. I'm in the big frost pocket between the Georgian Bay and the Ottawa Valley...usually next month for accummulations to occur though. I thought we were supposed to have an El Nino winter this year?
Hi Karen, Long term forecast looks like someone rolled the bones and it came up "I don't have a clue!" Temps hovering around the freezing mark. I put my bulbs in yesterday: a bit early but I thought I was using my last chance. Now watch it be in the teens over Christmas like a couple of years ago..
Yes, it's not something I enjoy "getting used to", though, Janey! bah humbug. lol...

No, I wouldn't either! It's typical Autumn weather here today, wet, cold and grey...yak.... Bulbs are still waiting to be planted. I have bought some Paperwhite narcissus, and they need to be potted up now, for flowering over Xmas...

oh paperwhites are so pretty... my christmas cactus (schlumbergera?) doesn't look like it's going to flower...then again, it's not November yet, either. It's trigger is the short days of early winter and it's so cheery to see it blooming it's heart out in those dark dreary days. I was thinking about planting some tulips in pots for forcing but ended up putting them in the ground. maybe next year.
