Beer battered morels

I've been eating morels since I was a kid but this was the first time I fried them in beer batter. Probably not the healthiest way to eat them but morel season is short and they were delicious. By far the best morels I've ever had.

Yes they are mushrooms, they do make a great starter but they also go well with steak and some people like to put them in spaghetti sauce. During spring, some people will sell the morels they find and it's amazing how much even a small batch will sell for.

Rkwright are they like mushrooms? I've never seen them here, but we do eat deep fried mushrooms here as a starter... ;o)
