Eriobotrya japonica - Loquat Tree (Eriobotrya japonica - Loquat Tree)

This 30' (10 m) tall loquat tree is loaded with fruit. They're common here and right now full of ripe fruit. Photo taken on March 31, 2017.

I see them flowering...the usual 1 month delay from south to north.
Hey!,My Mango is setting flowering buds. I'm glad- but I still liked last year when it skipped flowering, but grew much instead. It went from 5' to 8' in one summer.
They are not like hardy fruit tree's that grow well and have fruit at the same time...Mango's seem to really get bogged down in growth when they have fruit. Of course thats here. In warmer climates they..grow and grow.

That's great! You'll be getting mangoes this year. :>))

They can flush growth and fruit at the same time. They do that here all the time. In fact, last year some of the mango trees flowered 3 times and had two stages of fruit with growth. I think last year was an exceptional year for mango trees here in San Diego, though. Most don't have three crops within one year. It was pretty amazing, though.

I'm going to post a horrible mango photo I took last week. The tree is pretty big. It's in someone's back yard so it doesn't look so clear, unfortunately!
