Three years ago I planted 2 of the Golden form of Cornus Mas. It is yaking ages to get going, but a few tiny blossoms this year. They look exactly like this. Hopefully this year they will grow up a bit. My C.Mas was one of my favourite trees in my last garden. I dont remember it being so slow to get going...but It must have been! The blackbirds love the fruit.

Karen, I have a Cornus Mas somewhere, must hunt for it tomorrow. Hope yours gets going soon. After seeing your Aronia leaf colour in the autumn I bought 3, hmmm now where can they go x

Oh yes, you'll like them. They are quite shrubby...like hedging really, so don't make them too much of a focal point. I jave recently bought two Swedish Birches. They have lovely leaves. I'm going to grow them in planters on my deck at the back door so I can sit under them! :)

Thanks Karen for the advice. Your birches will be great, my favourites as they don't cast too much shade.

Do you have snow! Been horribly windy here.

We have escaped this time. The hills in the distance are white, but it was far too wet to settle here. Today was cold, windy and wet. Nothing worse than a bad wintry day. I am really relieved as Scott is on holiday abroad so I would have struggled if we'd had gales.

What a relief Karen. I found my C mas - no flowers or buds :-(
