Mango seedling flushing growth (Mangifera indica)

Mango seedling flushing growth (Mangifera indica) (Mango seedling (Mangifera indica))

This little mango seedling must have been anticipating the warm weather (upper 70's [mid-20's C.) the last couple of days. We're drying out after quite a bit of much-needed rain the last month or so. It actually broke out 6 year drought! Yay! Photo taken Jan. 29, 2017.

I trimmed the dead leafs off the Mango today. Longer days are waking things up..like Aloe blooms.

Plants, trees are growing like crazy here with all the rain.

My tropical guava is growing so much, when it's usually somewhat dormant this time of year.

The worst is over. Feb and warmer 70 or so temps will pop up around Hayward. It was 66f in Fremont today..I could see the temps go up one degree at a time from 61 here as I went to the rise up to Niles.
I took the Delonix and P.obtusa off the front porch..into sun. P.obtusa gets that black tip...but that goes away as soon as weather warms. Never seen it do more then a tip.
This looks like a low purchase and grow what I have summer. The plant budget isn't much.

Well, hopefully all the cold weather is over there. I do remember the light freeze of February of 1989. It did kill some of my more tender plants.

It's been really warm the last 4 days and it's still really mild tonight. It's still 63 degrees here at 9:05 p.m.

The latest is- ALL the old papaya leaves have either fallen or about too. Mango seems fine. I think I see swelling buds. Once these get size? I think they are good for everything but 1990 type cold. Its getting them to size that's the skill!
Anyways,Papaya fruits are still on the tree and even though all the old large leafs have fallen..the stems newest leafs look ok. Its as if it was deciduous and those are the spring leafs.
Temps here have been all over the 60's..low,high. I see they say next weekend warming trend to about 70f. With sun.

Papayas loose some of their leaves in winter. Many here look exceptionally well. I pass by several on my way to work and they look so good! They're full of large fruit, also. I may have to get some photos. I think they're loving all the rain! Most have been in such horrible drought conditions for so long.

It's been in the 70's for several days here, except today was cool only low 60's. It's suppose to rain tonight or tomorrow. That would be perfect, as the ground is starting to dry out.
